A collection of trading cards with various illustrations, including recycling symbols, scouting actions, and game-related icons, arranged in a binder.

An all new trading card game to collect. Unique art, foil cards, and different rarities from common to super rare.

For collectors

Display board titled 'Character card anatomy' next to small figurines on a table at a gaming event.

A new take on a familiar format. Do you play games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, or Lorcana? If so, give it a try! If not, don’t worry, it’s also a great beginner tcg.

For players

A display of small toys and cards on a table. There's a plush toy with green pom-poms and red berries, a small dark-colored figurine with red accents, and a pack of trading cards labeled 'A1' among other items.

My game has hand-drawn art and digital drawn art on all 100 cards in set one. No AI generation used. Yes, it took a while, but it was most definitely worth it.

What is the Universe A1 trading card game?

The Universe A1 trading card game is a two player deck building tcg, made locally in Western Massachusetts all by one guy. The Universe A1 trading cards themselves are high quality, black-core cardstock. (Basically the same type of paper used in Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon.) There’s also unique art on each and every one! No AI was used in the creation of any of the cards. Trust me, I have the folders to prove it!

You open packs, trade, etc. to get cards to build a legal deck of 50 cards to then battle an opponent and their hand-crafted deck. For more information on the specific rules, click here.

The gameplay is similar to other tcgs; play characters and defeat your opponent’s characters to win. (Five character defeats to be specific.) But while the core mechanics might be similar, it’s how you get there that sets it apart.

Deck building is freeing, as there’s no set meta, and each card has its counters.
No duplicate characters are allowed in a deck, so even the same deck can be used in different ways and not get stale.
The boost card mechanic allows for an extra layer of depth and tempo.
Disorienting allows for a lot of tempo control.
Certain cards can sweep if set up in a certain way without being too overpowered.
There’s even cards for stall, as gross as that playstyle is.

Basically, there’s something for everyone. So why not give it a shot? Good two player card games are hard to come across after all! Thanks for your support!
